Devin Jarcaig
Devin Michelle Jarcaig is a partner at Mathers McHenry & Co. Her practice focuses exclusively on employment litigation and employment law. Devin regularly provides strategic and legal advice to senior executives, directors, partners, and others at pivotal transition points in their careers. She advises her clients on a wide range of complex employment law issues, including but not limited to employment terminations, written offers of employment, wrongful and constructive dismissal cases, professional negligence, post-employment restrictions, and circumstances where harassment, bullying, and discrimination arise. While she is a fierce advocate in the courtroom should the need arise, she is also an effective negotiator who works tirelessly to achieve a practical and cost-effective solution on behalf of her clients. Devin does not believe there should be a “one size fits all” approach to the law – she always strives to provide each and every client with a sympathetic ear, an excellent level of service, and a collaborative approach to problem solving.
Devin has previously lectured on a wide range of employment law topics at the Ontario Bar Association, the Advocates’ Society, and the Ontario Justice Education Network’s Summer Law Institute. She obtained her J.D. and LL.B. from the Dual Canadian and American law degree program at the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy in 2011. Prior to attending law school, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at McGill University in 2008.
In addition to having a busy employment practice, Devin is committed to giving back to her community. Devin is a current member of the Ontario Bar Association’s Council as part of its Labour and Employment Section. She currently sits on the Board of Directors for Nightwood Theatre, Canada’s foremost feminist theatre company. Devin is also is a past participant of Nightwood Theatre’s Lawyer Show and a member of its sponsorship committee.
