Stephanie Nicholson
Stephanie joined Mathers McHenry & Co after starting her legal career working at one of Toronto’s leading management-side labour and employment boutiques. Stephanie has valuable experience advising public and private sector employers on all areas of federal and provincial employment law including wrongful dismissal litigation, employment standards, human rights and accommodation, executive compensation, policy drafting and enforcement, and employee performance management. Stephanie has represented clients before various courts and tribunals, at mediations, and through negotiating employment offers and separation agreements. At Mathers McHenry & Co Stephanie advises employees and employers at all stages of the employment relationship.
Stephanie’s commitment to clients is driven by an unwavering desire to provide exceptional and timely customer service. She takes a pragmatic and creative approach to problem-solving, appreciating that effective advocacy requires understanding the unique objectives and circumstances of her clients. While Stephanie works proactively with employers and employees to manage risk and avoid litigation, she is equally adept and confident as a fierce advocate where conflict arises.
Stephanie received her Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University and her law degree from the University of Windsor. During her academic pursuits, Stephanie developed her aptitude for advocacy, sharpening her skills through competitive moots, negotiations, and policy case symposiums. In addition, Stephanie received the Dean’s Achievement Award in 2020 for her outstanding contributions to her classes and the Windsor Law community.
In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys exploring museums and galleries, testing her physical strength through powerlifting, and leading discussion in a downtown book club.
