Don’t Forget: Employers have until June 2, 2022 to put a ‘disconnecting from work’ policy in place
Mark your calendars: the new requirements for employers prescribed by the Working for Workers Act, 2021 take effect June 2, 2022. The requirements include (for employers with 25 or more employees as at January 1, 2022) having a written policy in place about “disconnecting from work”, including work-related communications (emails, telephone calls, video calls or other messages) “so as to be free from the performance of work”. This and certain other requirements under the new legislation were discussed in greater detail in our previous blog post.
