
Jeremy is a proactive, solutions-oriented advocate focused on employment law. Before joining Mathers McHenry & Co., Jeremy practiced at a leading labour and employment boutique, where he provided advice on a variety of matters, including wrongful and constructive dismissals, workplace accommodation and human rights disputes. In addition, he regularly advised employers on drafting employment agreements and workplace policies. Jeremy also completed his articles at a national full-service law firm, focusing on complex commercial litigation and class actions defence.
Jeremy looks beyond the law to find practical solutions that serve his clients’ interests. Avoiding or minimizing conflict wherever possible, he understands that clients want problems solved efficiently. When a negotiated resolution is not possible, Jeremy has the skills and resolve to effectively litigate employment disputes. With experience representing both employers and employees in workplace disputes, Jeremy sees issues from both sides, allowing him to understand the common motivations of employers and employees and enabling him to provide clients with strategic insights throughout the litigation process.
Jeremy completed his law degree at the University of Ottawa, where he developed his conflict resolution and advocacy skills participating in multiple negotiation competitions. Before law school, Jeremy completed a Bachelor of Science at McMaster University, focusing his studies on ecology and evolutionary biology.
